The Big Q
I believe that today, you can change your destiny. I don't believe that life path will be determined on the day you were born. Because I personally believe that a person can still change their life path. For example, A good mother and father gave birth to a boy. They both raised their son very well, and both parents already knew that their son will have a very good life. But when the boy was growing up, he got influenced by his bad friends making him into a rebel. Both parents where sad to see what happened to their son. They were expecting that their son will have a good life, but their son chose the evil path. That's why I believe that what ever you do in your life, it will depend on the path to choose. You can still change the path you have chosen if you put your heart and that you're sincere to change.
I personally believe that a person can change his or her stars. For example, A guy named James is destined to be a Drug Dealer, but as he grow older and become more mature and understand what life truly means, he might realize that selling Drugs is wrong and promise to himself that he will never be a Drug Dealer. You see, when people grow old and mature, they will know what's the good thing or bad thing to do. I truly believe that a person can change his or her destiny as long as they are mature and do the things that they think is right. And I also agree about the clip that you do not need money in order to change your star, all you need is to have faith in yourself that you can change your star no matter what.
The Connection between The Big Q and Chapter 1-2
At the first chapter, Peter, the protagonist, I believe wanted to change his star because he wanted to have a better life. Sir Philip, the antagonist, made a wall on to the Brownriggs' and Bells' Land. The owners wanted to fight back but they needed a lot of money in order for someone to help them to take down the wall. So Peter decided to gather many villagers so that they can help one another to take down the wall. Sir Philip noticed that the villagers where on attack, so he gathered his men to attack the attacking villagers. The villagers decided to retreat since they don't have any protection or something to defend themselves except for Peter who did not retreat. He threw a rock on the wall and a couple of Sir Philip's men saw him and tried to shoot him. Good thing he wasn't shot at any part of his body, but his cap got shot and he got scared so he decided to retreat as well. Sir Philip's men are now after Peter, Peter decided to go somewhere safe where no one knows him. He wanted to get back the land his family owns but he failed. The clip and chapter 1-2 have some similarities, and that is Peter didn't have enough money but he still had faith in himself that he will overcome Sir Philip's power, but then again he failed.
Is that what you think? It doesn't matter what you think! HAHA no offense, you get the joke Johnjohn.
ReplyDeleteBut I agree completely that as a person matures, a person will be more capable of forming his life path for the better. People who are incapable of thinking in a mature manner can change his lifepath, but often not for the better.
And that's the bottom line, because I said so! ( Again, you get the joke).
Short answer to a BIG Q - you only answered the last part about present day. Don't forget to consider the past tense part of the question.
ReplyDeleteMs. Lees, I have updated my response
ReplyDeleteResponse is getting better Johnjohn. The drug dealer analogy is an interesting one but it may be flawed logically. Do you really think there is anyone who believes drug dealing is a good thing or serves a noble purpose, at any age? I don't know if maturity is what you are looking for here. Are you confusing maturity with ethics?
ReplyDeleteI think you misread part of the opening conflict. Peter is a young boy, son of one of the leaders of the revolt. His task was as a lookout and it was his impulsive actions that lead to him going on the run so as not to bring down punishment on the whole family.
